Remembering to count my blessings

Remembering to count my blessings can sometimes be over shadowed by everything not going right in my life. As I sit here watching cartoons with Sean boy I’m reminded of my many blessings. I’m home with my youngest, playing trains, watching a little TV, coloring, and sneaking bits of chocolate, together we are enjoyed the morning. I’m blessed to be able to spend quality time with my little guy. I’m also blessed that I get a little time to myself once he goes down for his early afternoon nap. Sometimes I just sit on the couch, TV off, and relax. Doing nothing for a few minutes prepares me for the rest of my day.

Big sister is at school and will be staying over for tutoring. I’m grateful that we can afford to send her to a private school and her after school tutoring, twice a week is a blessing as well. I’m blessed and sometimes it’s hard for me to see it. Just found out that the school Jasmine goes to will slowly be introducing Jr. High classes over the next three years. By the time Jasmine gets to 6th grade Amite Christian Academy will be a full-fledged Elementary and Jr. High, we are excited about that.

My hard working husband is at work trying to make a living to support us. I’m blessed to be married to such an amazing man, and he’s just as blessed to have me in his life.

It does get crazy around here, the little one loves to get into mischief, he reminds me of Dennis the Menace. Everything I own has little flaws to it thanks to him, but I can’t be mad at him, he’s a kid, and that’s what kids do.

Despite all the sleepless nights, battles with homework, early mornings, a laundry pile that never gets smaller, and a constant battle with the dishes, I wouldn’t change a bit of it. This is my life, and I’m so blessed.

It’s easy to look at all the bad, it’s more productive to focus on all the blessings.

  1. Your days sound a lot like mine! It is easy to get discouraged by the neverending chores that moms have to do. Thanks for the reminder to count my blessings. I may have tons of laundry, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. My kids make life complete, messes and all.

  2. This is something for all of us to do – to count our blessings, to be thankful to the good things happening in our live right now instead of grumbling about the bad things that touch us now and then.

  3. definitely need to count my blessings. sometimes we forget to do that.

  4. It really is so important to count our blessings. I know sometimes it’s so easy to get down and focus only on the bad things, but remembering my blessings always gives me perspective and turns my mountains back to molehills.
